Inspiring garden furniture colours

Taking inspiration from your garden and your interests can really invigorate your garden space. Garden Furniture - BeforeThere are some great paints in a range of beautiful colours readily available on the market today that can transform your garden space for very little. Instead of buying new furniture and accessories, consider giving your current furniture a lick of paint.

This table has really seen better days and for most of us would think its time to go. “There’s too much to do”.

However, with a little light sanding to remove the loose paint and some quality paint, you can transform tables like this into something wonderful.

Before you start your project, think about your colour scheme and don’t be afraid of using bright colours. Consider where you would like to place your table and chairs and what’s around you. What colours do you already have in your garden?

My Garden Colour Scheme

Colour Scheme

My garden colour scheme is a combination of; blues, whites, purples and greens and I already have some garden furniture with blue accessories as seen below.

My Courtyard Colour Scheme

Keeping with my colour scheme, I wanted my table and chairs to compliment the blues, whites and greens in the garden.

I used Annie Sloan ‘Original’ on the table and Autentico ‘Lemon’ and ‘turquoise’ on the chairs and look at the result. A fabulous bright summery looking table and chairs for less than £20.

Garden Furniture - After

There are many pieces of furniture in my garden, but by painting them in shades of blue and white bought them all together. Combined with the planting scheme, it achieved a bold look, transforming the garden whilst being fun.

All that was left to do was to sit down in the sun, with a pot of tea, some biscuits and enjoy my surroundings.
